Schiller is the main project of Christopher von Deylen, a German electronic music composer who produces music which can be considered trance and ambient. Since he himself does not sing on his tracks, he often collaborates with other famous singers in the electronic genre, such as Peter Heppner, Kim Sanders, Maya Saban, miLù, Sarah Brightman, Moya Brennan, or Alexander Veljanov, and musicians like Mike Oldfield.
The name of the band is taken from one of von Deylen's heroes, Friedrich Schiller.
The Weltreise (German for "World Trip") album was inspired by a two-month-long road trip that Deylen took with his father from London to Peking.
Schiller's fourth studio album is entitled Tag Und Nacht (Day And Night). It was released in Germany through Universal Music in mid-fall 2005. The North American release of the fourth album, Day And Night, was on July 10th, 2007. A dvd with the same name containing footage of a live concert released simultaneously.
In an undated release, Schiller has state that their fifth studio album is on schedule for release in early 2008. "Drifting and Dreaming" a new track, which is as of yet unconfirmed as a b-side or a track from the upcoming album, is previewable on the Schiller main site
